Converting OUR support into Election Wins
As the anniversary of our Party's landmark election victory approches, i am honoured to have
been elected as Convener of North East Fife Constituency Branch in succession to John Docherty.
Under John's stewardship, the branch has survived difficult and challenging times and has
grown and prospered. The pressure of an increasingly successful professional career now prevents John from being able to fulfil
the duties of Convener to the high standards which he always demands of himself. It now falls to me to build on the foundations
which he has laid.
Analysis of the results of last year's elections shows strong latent support in NE Fife for
the SNP. It will be the principal objective of my time as Convener to convert this potential into reality of increased representation
at both the Council and Parliamentary levels.
The Branch's team has a range of new ideas we are eager to develop to achieve our goals.
In broad outline we have three main lines of approach:
Firstly: we will develop our membership with a pro-active
programme of individual contact.
Secondly: we will make members more effective by encouraging
greater involvement with local communities and issues.
Thirdly: we will raise the profile of the Party in NE Fife
by establishing a systematic scheme of Press contacts to publicise Branch debates on important local and national issues.
The executive group are committed to developing NE Fife Branch as a successful election-winning
team. We hope you will join with us in this mission.
For the sake of future generations of Scots, we must win independence for our country.
Alastair Macpherson, Convener
