New Annual General Meeting Date 12th March 2009

S.N.P.North East Fire Constituency Branch
NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Branch Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday 12th March 2009 in the YM/YWCA, Bonnygate, Cupar
Starting at 7pm sharp.

Below are some ways in which you as an individual member can influence the future development on the Branch.

1.Determine to attend the Annual General Meeting, whether or not to hold office; only if you are present can you influence the election of personnel to Branch Committees.
A member who is nominated for a post is always asked whether or not s/he wishes to accept; no embarrassment ensues if that member declines.

2. Consider whom you might nominate or support for the posts of Branch Convener, Secretary, Treasurer and Orgeniser/Campaign Co-ordinator (without which the Party does not consider a Branch to be properly operational)
You may nominate any registered Member of the Branch - yourself included.
It is best to discuss this with your intended nominee prior to the AGM and send your proposal in advance to the Secretary, but if this cannot be managed, the Chair will consider nominations direct from the floor. Every nomination requires a seconder; again, if this cannot in arranged in advance, it is usually possible to find one at the meeting.

3. Consider also whom you might nominate for futher posts below (while these posts are not regarded as obligatory by the Party, it is generally considered that, in the interest of positive development of the Branch and avoidance of excessive office-bearer workload, they are either essential oe at least recommended):
Membership Secretary, Minutes Secretary, Press Officer (2), Fundraiser, Social Convener, Wedmaster, Newsletter Editor, Local Area Conveners.

4. Consider nomination for these additional tasks which are usually assigned at the AGM:
(Provisional) Election Agent, National Council Delegates (2), Auditors (2).

5. If you believe there is a need for the creation of any futher posts in the Branch, please convey your ideas to the Secretary, preferably in advance, so that they can be discussed at the meeting and a decision made.

I look forward to seeing you at the AGM on March 12th.

Sincerely
Mike Troon
Secretary
