16,675... that's the record number of police officers in Scotland. Not even two years through our term of office - the SNP government has delivered Scotland's highest ever number of police officers. Latest statistics (to December 31, 2008) show police officer numbers have increased by 409 (+2.5 per cent) in the last year (from December 31, 2007). These are record figures and show the SNP delivering on our promise to put more police on Scotland’s streets. For more information, click:
